1Welcome
Greet the children and prepare them for the lesson.
2Big Idea

With children seated, introduce the Big Idea:

Teacher: “Thank you for obeying and sitting in your chairs. When we obey others, we show RESPECT. Do you know what 'Respect' means? We show respect when we are kind to others. And, we show respect when we listen with our ears to others. We obey when we are asked; and we help others and share our toys with others. Today, we will learn how Ruth respected Naomi. Ruth showed respect by being kind and helping Naomi. Let’s watch how Ruth showed respect."

3Video
Show the "Little Ruth : Respect Part 3" video on your available TV or device.
4Video Review / Discussion / Takeaway

With children seated, use story review images of Ruth and Naomi.

Teacher: “Did you like the story? Did you see how Ruth helped Naomi? [use pictures to review ways Ruth helped] Ruth showed respect for Naomi by helping her. Can you sing along with the song, 'R-E-S-P-E-C-T?' Let’s sing: 'R-E-S-P-E-C-T, people with authority...' We can show respect to others by saying 'Please,' 'Thank you,' and obeying them. Let’s say our Bible verse for today: 'Ruth was kind and Helped Naomi.'”

Repeat.

Oscar Ox: “Oh, thank you. I know they help us and we should obey and be thankful.”

Teacher: "Speaking of friends, we have a story of how your friends Tibo Tiger and JoJo Giraffe came to visit you in Indiana.”

Oscar Ox: “Oh, that was fun. Can we tell the children about it?”
